Vietnam Coffee Market Overview (2025)
Vietnam is the world’s second coffee exporter and first for robusta. Exports reached a record USD 8.92 billion in 2025 on 1.59 million tonnes, and robusta makes up about 96% of a 31.7 million-bag crop.
Germany is the largest buyer at USD 1.23 billion, ahead of Italy, Spain, the United States and Russia; the EU takes 41% of export value. Processed coffee reached USD 1.4 billion, 16% of the total, and foreign-owned plants dominate it.
Prices have eased from the 2025 peak. The average export price fell to USD 4,537 per tonne over January to July 2026. London robusta traded near USD 3,370 per tonne in September. Green coffee ships by the 20-foot container.
The EU rates Vietnam low risk under the deforestation regulation, applying from December 30, 2026, but plot geolocation is still required. Green, roasted and unflavoured instant coffee are exempt from the 12.5% U.S. Section 301 duty; check 3-in-1 codes.
