Vietnam Door Manufacturing Market Overview (2025)

Vietnam exported USD 17.2 billion in timber and wood products in 2025 (+6% YoY), and ranks as the 5th-largest wood exporter worldwide and #1 in Southeast Asia with ~7% of global market share. Wooden frames, which include doors and door frames, are the single largest sub-segment at 22.6%. Roughly 70 to 80 Vietnamese door factories operate at consistent export grade for U.S., EU, Japan, and Australia.

The construction and hospitality pipeline is enormous. Phu Quoc APEC 2027 buildout adds USD 2.6 billion in mega hotel projects and roughly 10,000 new five-star rooms by 2027, including a “hotel city” of 6,500 rooms across 13 brands. Marriott signed 10 new hotels with Sun Group in Phu Quoc and Vung Tau (~4,500 rooms 2026 to 2030). Each room requires acoustic plus fire-rated guestroom doors.

Domestic developer demand drives HDF and MDF volume. Vinhomes, Sun Group, Novaland, Dat Xanh, and Hung Thinh account for roughly 30 to 35% of national high-rise deliveries. These projects spec primed, paintable, dimensionally stable interior doors at industrial volume. An Cuong, Saigon Door, and Eurowindow are the main HDF and veneer suppliers to this segment.

Steel “wood-grain” entrance doors (cua thep van go) are the fastest-growing residential entrance category, led by Koffmann, Alux, Galaxy, and Goonsan. Fire-rated steel doors for hospital, airport, and FDI factory projects are dominated by Vina-Sanwa (Japanese-owned), Goonam Vina (Korean-invested), and NovoDoor. EI30, EI60, EI90, and EI120 ratings are standard.

Compliance is the main differentiator for export buyers. Fire-rated door assemblies must meet BS 476-22 (UK), EN 1634-1 (EU), UL 10C and ASTM E2074 or NFPA 252 (USA). For US projects, CARB Phase 2 formaldehyde emission is required on composite wood doors. Acoustic guestroom doors need STC 35 to 44 ratings. FSC chain-of-custody is becoming a baseline for European and U.S. buyers, with EUDR compliance applying from December 30, 2026.

Manufacturing clusters are well-defined. Binh Duong and Dong Nai lead solid-wood, HDF, veneer, and hospitality door production. Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, and Hanoi Dong Anh dominate steel and fire-rated. Da Nang and Can Tho cover aluminum-glass and WPC composite. For 2026 expect strong demand on fire-rated guestroom assemblies, primed HDF interior doors, and premium wood-grain steel entrance doors across the U.S., EU, and ASEAN markets.
